Good thing we're still here

I was at the gym today and while I listened to a philosophy lecture on my iPhone the TV in front of me was playing a History Channel program called Life After Humans.

This show illustrated that when humans have left the earth (I guess after some apocalyptic event) pets will turn feral, weeds will overtake baseball stadiums, and after fifty years, the Sears Tower in Chicago will collapse due to dry rot.

This reminded me of Gen 1:28 where God tells the first humans to 'subdue the earth.' Part of the cultural mandate means that we maintain the earth. Man has brought a lot of disorder into the world due to sin, but we have also brought in a lot of order.
